Landowners and Land Advisors- Save the Date! November 2nd, David Braun & Thomas Hall to speak at all-day Conservation Workshop in El Paso, TX.

On Friday, November 2nd David Braun and Thomas Hall will be speaking at the Conservation Workshop hosted by the Frontera Land Alliance in El Paso, Texas. David and Thomas  will make presentations on Estate Planning, Conservation Easements 101, Farm and Ranch Properties: Family Legacy or Liability?, Wildlife Management for Property Taxes, and What Landowners Need to Know about Intrusion on Surface Use (Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Power Lines and Condemnation). This is a great opportunity for advisors, landowners and anyone else interested in getting up-to-the-minute information on various ways to conserve land.

The workshop will include both a half-day session for landowners (free) and a full day session for advisors (attorneys, real estate professionals and CPAs). Continuing education credits for this series is pending. Check back frequently as we will be updating this page when we find out more information.

Workshop Agenda:

Half-day Landowner Session (8-1:30): This session is for landowners and the general public. Topics: What landowners need to know about intrusion on surface use – Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Power Lines, and Condemnation; Wildlife Management for Property Taxes; Estate Planning; Introduction to Conservation Easements; Landowner comments about experience on donating conservation easements; Farm and Ranch Properties—Family Legacy or Liability; and Closing Comments. Admission is free for owners of ranches, farms or natural areas. All others please pay $30.

All-day Advisor Session (8-4:30): This is a full-day workshop for attorneys, estate planners, CPAs and appraisers, who will learn how conservation tools can benefit their clients. (All participants earn continuing-education credits.) Topics: Estate Planning; Conservation Easements 101; Farm and Ranch Properties: Family Legacy or Liability; What Landowners Need to Know about Intrusion on Surface Use – Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Power Lines, and Condemnation; Wildlife Management for Property Taxes. Cost to each advisor: $80.00, which includes breakfast, lunch, continuing-education credits (CPA, Attorney, Estate Planners) and all materials.
