About Patrick
Patrick L. Reznik has dedicated over 35 years as an attorney working with Texans and representing Texas landowners in eminent domain and condemnation cases bringing a unique combination of courtroom experience, agricultural expertise, and compassionate advocacy to every matter he handles. As Braun & Gresham’s most experienced trial lawyer, Patrick has taken more than a hundred cases to jury verdict and is widely recognized for his strategic approach to protecting landowners’ rights when their property is threatened by pipelines, transmission lines, roads, and other infrastructure projects.
Patrick’s deep connection to land and agriculture shapes every aspect of his practice. Before becoming an attorney, he earned degrees in agricultural and civil engineering and worked for leading research companies developing hybrid grains resistant to drought, insects, and disease. Patrick’s approach is grounded in partnership.
He understands that condemnation cases are not just legal matters but emotional and often overwhelming experiences for landowners. By guiding clients through the process with skill and compassion, he ensures they feel supported and secure in knowing that they achieved a better outcome with his help than they could have without it. He regularly speaks on topics related to eminent domain and the valuation of property damages in condemnation cases, and he has also presented on issues ranging from financial crime prevention to self-defense laws and forensic evidence training.
Patrick’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. He has taught law, math, and engineering courses at Texas Tech University and the Alamo Community College District and has been a leader in Toastmasters International for more than 25 years. In 2008, he founded the Dripping Springs Toastmasters club, which has helped hundreds of members develop leadership and communication skills. His passion for learning and teaching reflects his belief in leaving the community better than he found it and inspiring others to be lifelong students and teachers.
Patrick earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he served as the Law Review editor for two journals and having his own article published on strict product liability. His master’s thesis on the structural strength of laminated glass for tornado, and hurricane, prone buildings was published in the Journal of Structural Engineering. He is also a trained mediator and volunteers his time to help parties resolve conflicts outside of court.
When he is not practicing law, Patrick enjoys gardening, beekeeping, chicken wrangling, landscaping, reading, traveling, and hosting gatherings with friends and neighbors. He finds inspiration on his family’s property in Dripping Springs, where for more than 25 years he and his family have been stewards of the land, learning, growing, and sharing the rewards of hard work and care for the land.
