International Right of Way Association Austin Chapter 74 Luncheon
Join Attorney & Counselor Carly Barton of Braun & Gresham for the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) Austin Chapter 74 Luncheon, where she will present on the emerging development of 765-kV transmission lines in Texas and the legal processes that shape transmission routing and property acquisition.
As Texas expands its energy infrastructure to meet growing demand, higher-capacity 765-kV transmission lines are being introduced to the state’s electrical grid. These projects require complex routing approvals through the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC).
During this presentation, Carly will outline the legal framework governing transmission line development in Texas, including how transmission routes are evaluated and approved, and how the condemnation process works when infrastructure projects impact private land. Attendees will gain a clear, practical understanding of how transmission projects move from planning and regulatory review to right-of-way acquisition.
