About Erin
Erin DeBooy brings nearly a decade of litigation experience to Braun & Gresham, with focus on resolving complex disputes and advocating for clients through every stage of a case, from the first demand letter to the final appeal.
Before joining the firm, Erin spent years representing property owners and management companies in high-volume civil litigation, handling breach of contract claims, debt collection, regulatory compliance actions, and disputes across justice, county, and district courts throughout Texas. She has tried cases as first chair in both county and district court, and she has drafted appellate briefs and writs of mandamus before the Texas Courts of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court. That courtroom experience gives her a practical, grounded understanding of how disputes actually unfold, and how to position a client for the best possible outcome long before a matter ever reaches trial.
Erin’s early legal work sharpened her interest in land, natural resources, and regulatory matters. At McElroy, Sullivan, Miller, Weber & Olmstead, she prepared for hearings before the Texas Railroad Commission involving disposal wells, seismic activity, and permit disputes, and she assisted with environmental and wastewater permit litigation. That foundation, combined with her litigation background and her work analyzing Texas legislation during recent legislative sessions, informs the strategic, detail-oriented approach she brings to every client she represents.
Known for clear communication and thorough preparation, Erin takes the time to understand each client’s goals and explains the legal landscape in plain terms that make sense. She is a frequent continuing-education presenter and has served as outside counsel on legislative and policy matters, reflecting her commitment to staying at the forefront of Texas law.
Erin earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she finished in the top 12% of her class and served on the South Texas Law Review. She holds a Master of Arts in Legal Studies from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from New Mexico State University. She is also a certified mediator under Texas statute.
When Erin is not practicing law she is cheering on her young sons at the baseball field or attending an Austin Symphony Orchestra performance. Erin’s favorite places in Texas are Lake Austin and anywhere outdoors in the Hill Country. Beyond her legal work, she is passionate about amateur astrophotography on clear Hill Country nights.
