Overview

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing an improved road project RM 620 at Anderson Mill from south of Foundation Road to Little Elm Trail, in Travis and Williamson counties, due to increased traffic leading to higher levels of congestion and decreased mobility. The purpose of this project is to alleviate traffic at El Salido Parkway and Anderson Mill Road intersections, provide emergency vehicles an alternative route through the project area, and ultimately reduce congestion on Rm 620 and other local streets.

Proposed Improvements

  • The addition of overpasses that would function as bypass lanes in each direction through the Anderson Mill Road and El Salido Parkway intersections
  • The addition of turnarounds at both the Anderson Mill Road and El Salido Parkway intersections
  • The construction of an additional right-turn lane from northbound RM 620 to eastbound Anderson Mill Road
  • Shared-use paths for bicyclists and pedestrians

Anticipated Next Steps

  • Winter 2023 – Environmental Decision Anticipated*
  • Winter 2023 – Right-of-way acquisition begins
  • 2027 – Anticipated construction start**

*The environmental decision is contingent on USFWS consultation for endangered species.

**Construction is anticipated to take 2 year and is subject to change based on final design and construction methods used.

This timeline is contingent on funding, right or way acquisition, and utility relocation and, dates are subject to change.
