Certified Public Accountants, serving as trusted advisers to their clients, are often asked about estate planning and taxation.  Therefore, it is important to understand the fundamentals of disability and estate planning, and to stay abreast of developments in the law. This comprehensive course examines the issues and strategies for asset protection, limiting liability, planning for mental disability to avoid conservatorship, and dealing with probate.  In particular, the presenters will focus on counseling families with rural land, their options for leaving land to heirs and using conservation easements as a mechanism to reduce or eliminate estate taxes.
