About Eric

Eric Gomez has more than 14 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on real estate, land use, and development matters for landowners, families, developers, businesses, and mission driven organizations across Central Texas and the United States. Based in Austin and Dripping Springs, Eric works closely with clients to guide them through complex transactions and land related decisions with clarity, care, and a long term perspective.

Eric’s practice spans both residential and commercial real estate, including acquisitions and sales, title and easement matters, permitting and regulatory coordination, leases, and development planning. He regularly assists with large scale land transactions, master planned communities, joint ventures, and feasibility of development projects, as well as general counsel for organizations and real estate brokerages.

At the core of Eric’s work is a two fold approach. He sees his role first as a counselor and partner, helping clients navigate stressful or unfamiliar situations with empathy, patience, and honest guidance. Just as important is applying his legal knowledge to understand the problem at hand and move clients toward practical solutions that protect their land, investments, and goals. For Eric, the human side of representation matters just as much as the legal strategy.

Eric values working with families and organizations who care about how their land is managed and developed, knowing that today’s decisions shape future communities, conservation efforts, and quality of life. He finds his work especially rewarding because it is tangible. The projects he supports often become neighborhoods, parks, infrastructure, and community spaces that people use and rely on for generations.

Clients value Eric’s down to earth style and adaptability. He describes himself as blue collar in mindset with a white collar education, equally comfortable discussing complex transactions with sophisticated stakeholders or walking a piece of property with a landowner. His background as a business owner also gives him a practical understanding of commercial realities and how real estate decisions create long term value.

Outside of the firm, Eric serves on the Board of Directors for Foster Village and is actively involved in foster care advocacy and community leadership through Kings Porch Church. He is also the founder of Leviathan Rods, a fishing rod company that reflects his love for the outdoors. When he is not practicing law, Eric spends time with his family and fishing, particularly in Matagorda Bay, a place that deepens his connection to conservation, stewardship, and the Texas landscape.

• Advising on the development of master planned communities, including entity creation and drafting of governance documents for HOAs and POAs
• Creation and management of condominium regimes
• Entitlement and land use support for all manner of commercial projects including gas stations, multifamily, office spaces, single family residential communities, public infrastructure, roadways and easements
• Representing developers and families in land transactions exceeding $100 million, including value determination of assets to help clients maximized their returns
• Representing developers through permitting and land use requirements with local governmental entities
• Negotiating commercial lease agreements including cell tower leases, restaurants, retail spaces and similar
• Representing HOAs and POAs with interpretation of governance documents, amendments and related matters
• Supporting nonprofit organizations in securing and establishing a permanent home base, including land acquisition and entitlements
• Representing real estate brokerages by being on call for difficult real estate questions, drafting special provisions for purchase agreements, resolving matters with Title Companies, and guiding agents and their clients through the closing process
• Representing local governmental entities by advising on land use regulations; redrafting subdivision regulations to be compliant with state statutes.
