TLMA 2026 Statewide Members Meeting

Since 1999, TLMA has advocated for fairness and balance in matters affecting Texas land and mineral owners. Its statewide meeting brings members together to learn about issues that may influence their property, their surface and/or subsurface rights, and overall long-term interests.
As data center development expands across Texas, landowners face important decisions involving land use, infrastructure, utilities, option contracts, purchase agreements, leases, and surface use accommodation agreements. Nathan will provide a practical, balanced overview of the current landscape and discuss the value of obtaining legal guidance before entering a transaction.
Attendees will learn what to evaluate when presented with an offer to purchase or lease property for data center or similar industrial development, including:
- Financial, timing, and practical considerations during due diligence option periods
- Contract terms that may help protect the landowner and property while allowing for necessary due diligence and development planning
- Issues that may require further review or negotiation
The session will help landowners, mineral owners, and other interested parties understand proposed agreements, identify potential areas for negotiation, and make informed decisions about whether an opportunity is right for their property.
