Bennett Trust Women’s Land Stewardship Conference
Braun & Gresham attorney and counselor Nathan Yates will join a panel at the Bennett Trust Women’s Land Stewardship Conference in Fredericksburg on October 5th.
Supported by the Bennett Trust endowment, a legacy of Eskell and Ruth Bennett, the conference provides practical, region-specific education for landowners in the Edwards Plateau. Sessions help new landowners and multigenerational ranchers gain the knowledge needed to manage their property, preserve natural resources, and plan for the future.
As data center development expands across Texas, landowners face complex decisions involving land use, infrastructure, utilities, option contracts, purchase agreements, and leases. This panel will provide a practical, balanced overview of the current landscape and the value of seeking legal representation before entering a transaction.
Attendees will learn what to evaluate when presented with an offer to purchase or lease property for data center or similar industrial development, including:
- Financial, timing, and practical considerations during due diligence option periods
- Contract terms that may protect the owner and property while allowing for necessary due diligence and development planning
- Issues that may warrant further review or negotiation
The discussion will help landowners and development professionals better understand proposed agreements, protect their interests, and make informed decisions about whether an opportunity is right for the property.
