2026 Texas Land Conservation Conference

Join Attorney & Counselor Carly Barton of Braun & Gresham at the 2026 Texas Land Conservation Conference for a panel discussion. The discussion will focus on the challenges of infrastructure development on conserved lands and strategies to protect them.
When pipelines, roads, or other utilities intersect with conserved lands, landowners and land trusts face unique challenges. This session, “Pipelines, Utilities & Roads Cometh: What Landowners Can Do to Safeguard Conserved Lands,” will explore strategies to protect landowner rights and minimize impacts. It will also discuss how to maintain conservation values during the condemnation process.
Braun & Gresham is a law firm dedicated solely to representing landowners. Carly brings extensive experience advising clients on condemnation matters, utility easements, and infrastructure disputes, helping landowners navigate complex legal issues while advocating for fair outcomes.
Topics include:
- Understanding how condemnation affects conserved lands
- Preparing for infrastructure projects and utility easements
- Implementing best practices for landowners and land trusts during the condemnation process
- Applying lessons learned from working with different condemnation authorities
- Developing strategies to safeguard conservation values when land is impacted
This session is designed for landowners, land trust staff, and industry professionals. It is for those seeking practical guidance on protecting conserved lands when utilities, pipelines, and other infrastructure projects intersect with their property.
The panel will take place on February 25 at 3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Austin Airport Ballroom. This is part of the 2026 Texas Land Conservation Conference, hosted by the Texas Land Trust Council.
